yeah. I'd be interested to know what sells best. I bet you anything it'd be the Brent years. Funny because that's possibly the most over looked era release wise. What do you make of them saying to release that 68 show because it's an under represented and important era while knowing that it wouldn't be the best in terms of marketing?

I'm very grateful for that consideration! It shows recognition for what one important segment of their fans want to hear!

And though I am tough on Rhino/GDP when they chop up a legendary performance, imagine how dissapointed I would be if more of the official releases were shows from the 80's...

I'm still bemused by Rhino's inability to grasp the idea that just offering CDs/physical media is such an outdated notion.

I understand that having an actual CD in your hand is quite a nice feeling, but in this digital age, could Rhino not offer a download version of the same release? It could be FLAC, OGG, MP3 or whatever....they don't have to print off thousands of CDs and hope they sell, they can ship these things faster than snail mail and I'm pretty sure they'd gain a few more sales that way.

But then again, I'm probably hoping for too much from a company who took 6 weeks to send me a CD through Airmail.

Unlike some efficient mailers you know...ahem.

Yep, I for one would love to see the Download program kick started!

I do love the physical stuff, but given the packaging ain't what it used to be, for a few bucks less I would gladly DL it all!

Indeed, you should give Rhino a few tips :)

I don't want to sound as if I'm moaning all the time about Rhino, but they just seem to want to stick to an outdated business pattern that was fine before the advent of the digital download age.

iTunes/Apple....love them or hate them, they have the right idea. Even small, specialist labels (Warp would be a prime example here) offer their entire catalogue in digital format. I just don't get it.
